Discuss your background prior to starting at ERAU.
Prior to starting at ERAU, I had more than 30 years in business development, marketing and sales experience in corporate and aviation environments. After a 26-year career with IBM in sales and management, I retired. Upon retirement, I joined a small company as CIO, and managed a Start Up health and Nutraceutical Company, which was part of the UCF Incubator in Central Florida. In 2001, I became a licensed Real Estate Agent, and soon after a Broker, which I utilized while working in sales and marketing for the Marriott Vacation Club. At the time of joining ERAU, I had been working for Delta Air Lines in the New York, Orlando and Ft Myers locations.
What is your current role within ERAU’s Career Services?
I am the Office Manager in the Career Services Office. One of the most important aspects of my position is being the front office customer service person. Our customers are the students, alumni, parents, and future students. Another important responsibility is the hiring, training and managing the student and graduate assistants. Our office schedules and manages Industry/Career Expo’s Recruiting Events in the spring and fall. As one of the primary contacts for the Expo’s, I manage the majority of exhibitor communications, attendees and payment processing.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is working with such an amazing team and group of students. Our office is the liaison between the student and the employer. We work with them to prepare, guide and offer opportunities for students to find internships, and their dream job when they graduate.
What is your favorite quote?
“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together… there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.” A.A. Milne
What was your best vacation and why?
For my honeymoon, my husband and I rented a Villa on the Amalfi Coast of Italy and we invited all of our closest friends to join us. The vacation included tremendous laughter, food, gorgeous views and side trips to Capri and Pompeii. Most importantly, it was my favorite; because of the fact that it was shared with those, we love.
What is your favorite movie and why?
“Pretty Woman” It has all the elements of a unique love story with a happy ending.
