It’s the first day of school and we welcome our new and returning Eagles to the Prescott and Daytona Beach campuses!
Welcome back to the beautiful Prescott campus of ERAU. The Prescott office of Career Services is excited for the start of the school year and the jump start to the year that September and October bring to our talented students. Our primary goal in career services is to help empower students to connect their ERAU educational experience with internship, co-op and career start opportunity. Students become empowered when they take advantage of the opportunities to grow that are available to them. Be aware of what is happening coming out of the career services office it is well worth the effort.
To help in this area a few questions that could help. Do you know who your career services manager is for your degree area? Have you established and updated your Handshake profile and resume? Are you planning to take advantage of workshop sessions offered? How confident are you in your ability to network, conduct an intern or full time job search, interview? Do you know what employers are seeking in preferred candidates? If you need to brush up or learn the answers to any of these questions, stop by career services. Often times it is not what you know but whom you know. Individuals in career services are good people to know. We look forward to you stopping by and saying hello.
Have a great year.

Executive Director of Career Services & Corporate Relations, Prescott Arizona Campus
The Career Services team welcomes you to the 2019-20 academic year. It’s exciting to see the campus continue to grow, with around 7,000 students on campus this fall, representing all 50 states and 110 different countries! Erin Minta and the rest of our team worked closely with Christie Miller, the Dean of Students Office, Student Engagement & Student Union, Housing & Residence Life, and other campus departments to help bring you Eagle Elevate. This program focuses on the eight career readiness competencies that employers have identified as being among the most crucial to one’s marketability and long-term career success. These competencies are career preparation, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, digital fluency, global fluency, leadership, and professionalism. Each is an important skill for you to practice and develop throughout your college career. Actively participating in Eagle Elevate will help you to not only build your resume, but to also feel confident when the time comes to have career conversations with employers regarding your internship or job search.
Our team is here to support you throughout your college experience and beyond with services and resources dedicated to helping prepare you for the world of work. The first step is to activate your account on Handshake. All students have single sign-on access through ERNIE. Once in the system, you can build your profile and select your career interests (the more complete, the better), upload your resume for review, schedule an appointment to meet with your designated Program Manager, check out upcoming recruiting events and career services workshops, view and apply to jobs and internships, research companies through Q&A and Reviews, access additional career resources (e.g., internship papers, CareerSpots videos, GoinGlobal, CareerShift, and sample resumes), and message students at ERAU and other universities who have had experiences similar to those to which you aspire.
Career Services has a full calendar of events this semester, including company visits to include Boeing Day, workshops and presentations, our Handshake Genius Bar, the JCPenney SUIT UP event, and the Fall Industry/Career Expo. This year’s Fall Industry/Career Expo is expected to sell out once again, with 98 companies already registered, including Airbus, Amazon, Cirrus Aircraft, Collins Aerospace, Delta Air Lines, DEA, Embraer, L3 Harris Technologies, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, OneWeb, Porsche, Sierra Nevada, United Launch Alliance, Universal Weather & Aviation, and many more. Preparation tips can be found on our website or come meet with us. You can download the Embry-Riddle Career Fair Plus app on the iTunes or Google Play stores to get timely updates (say yes to push notifications), information on employers, floor plan information, and more.
We are also working with Boeing to bring you some very special networking and professional development events throughout the fall and spring semesters. Stay tuned for more to come.
