Andrea Armstrong is the newest Project Manager in Worldwide Career Services. She started this new position in December 2019.

Discuss your background prior to starting at ERAU.

I am a graduate of Appalachian State University and have a professional background in marketing, training, advising, and event planning. While living in Washington DC I had the opportunity to join EMS Sky Connect’s marketing team. It was a small team and the experience I gained while attending tradeshows and working with customers quickly taught me about the aviation community. I learned that it is filled with individuals who are always happy to share an interesting story and who are genuinely passionate about the aviation industry. After moving to Daytona Beach, I embraced the opportunity to again be a part of the aviation community as an Admission Counselor for a local flight school and when the opportunity to join ERAU’s Enrollment Operations team presented itself I was very excited to be part of an institution with such a rich tradition. I worked as an Enrollment Counselor for 2 ½ years gaining valuable experience that has prepared me for my current position in Career Services.

What is the best part of your job?

I value the relationships with members of the Career Services team and enjoy working with our students and alumni to help them prepare for their future and achieve their goals.

What is your favorite quote?

Why should students use career services in your opinion?

The staff genuinely cares about each student’s success and works tirelessly to provide thoughtful recommendations and make connections between industry professionals and ERAU students and alumni.

The resources that we are able to share with our students and alumni are valuable in so many aspects. In addition to assisting them with their job search, resume review, and interview preparation we help them understand how powerful networking is and provide them with the skills to develop and maintain a professional presence as well as maximize the functionality of tools like LinkedIn and Handshake that will be beneficial throughout their career.

What are some of your hobbies when not working?

I like to cook (and eat), and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy giving back to the community and volunteer with various organizations, and each fall/winter I support my favorite football and basketball teams.
